In just under four years, Indian fashion designer and entrepreneur Anand Jon has taken the international fashion world by storm. Not surprising from a man who received the sponsorship of legendary individualist, Giorgio Armani for his Spring/Summer 2K2 “Aoracle” Collection. Anand Jon’s distinctive creations have earned him an A list clientele including: Nadja Swarovski, Princess Olivia de Borbon, the Hilton sisters, Bruce Springstein and Naomi Campbell. However, the multi-talented Jon is more than just a dresser of pretty faces and his impact is being felt beyond the world of high fashion.

He is a host for MTV Asia, sponsors a worldwide music/fashion montage along with Buddha Bar, is the official spokesman for CARE International children’s charity, and is currently in negotiations with Jaguar to spearhead a special promotion with details that cannot be revealed at this time.

Summer Altice catapulted into the stratosphere of the International modeling world after winning the YM cover girl contest and quickly living up to the title, landing the covers of numerous top fashion magazines. She’s been featured in national campaigns for Guess, Mossimo, and Bally’s Total Fitness. It seems Summer’s charm translates seamlessly onto the screen, resulting in roles in The Scorpion King and the new Zalman King television series, ChromiumBlue.com.

Maxim magazine recently nominated her as one of five new TV celebrities to look out for in the coming year. As if her cup didn’t already runneth over, during her “free time” Summer and her music group Krystal are in the studio preparing the release of their first album.

The Book: How do you view your persona today versus when you first started your career?
Anand Jon: I find that the entire creative process is a much lighter experience. There is a more playful element to how I consider my business today compared to when I started out three years ago.
Summer Altice: The beauty of life is that every day you live to learn something new. I find that the core of me is still grounded, but now I’ve acquired a depth that comes from growth.

Book: What makes the beginning of an endeavor memorable?
AJ: The aura of new possibilities. SA: The desire to achieve something for the first time makes you put all of your effort, work and love into it. What you remember is not the final result but the journey along the way.

Book: What stimulates your sense of creativity?
AJ: Passion and death. Passion stimulates the desire to create. Awareness of mortality makes aliveness that much more valuable. SA: Music and good movies. When I see or hear a powerful performance it makes me strive to attain new levels within my own work.

Book: What does the term “sexy” mean to you and how do you translate this to your work?
AJ: The term sexy is actually a by-product of sensuality and being sensual has a great deal to do with self-confidence. My designs are one catalyst for encouraging women to embrace this side within themselves. SA: Sexy is being feminine and strong. Choosing roles that portray these qualities is a natural extension of my own personality.

Book: At which point does a person gain wisdom of his/her choices in life?
AJ: Wisdom comes from the time you are born. You enter this world with everything you need to possess and life is a process of rekindling these traits within yourself. SA: The point at which you learn from mistakes.

Book: What makes you happy?
AJ: Can’t share that. It’s not the obvious, and it’s too personal. SA: Family.
