One could easily say that the presence Lust 4 Luxe handbags (or “L4L,” according to fans and new converts) was the highlight of the Silver Spoon Hollywood Buffetfor the 2008 Golden Globes, and will be the exclusive handbag gifter at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, perhaps even outshining the telecast itself. Their bright idea? A internal lighting system that lights up the entire inside of the bag. This is something very useful, especially given that their best selling styles (including the Selene, Antigua and Isis bags) are big enough for moving-and-shaking women to carry their entire lives in. So far, Christina Applegate, Hillary Duff, Pamela Anderson, Sharon Stone, Molly Sims, Book L.A. Cover Girl Emily Blunt and Angelina Jolie are doing just that. At the Silver Spoon Voda Spa affair, meanwhile, Kimberly Elise, Brooke Mueller and Samantha Harris were among those who learned why Lust 4 Luxe is an apt name for the bag line.
Suites and celebrity accolades aside, however, Catalano and Savarese know what matters most when producing a bag line intended to compete with the Fendi’s, Hogans and Gucci’s of the world—sumptuous leathers, substantial hardware, textural details such as weaves and patents and that something extra—the light. And indeed, the duo is hoping with all these high profile ladies rocking the bags, other handbag aficionados will soon see the light.
