While famed master turntablist DJ Krush from Osaka(Japan)
and Beat Junkies' J. ROCC dropped the needle on the record to a crescendo
of beat construction and vinyl scratches, audiences in the other room
where treated to the warm balearic downtempo vibes of JAFFA(Montreal),
featuring the Cafe Del Mar (Ibiza) crew DJ Bruno and Nappy G.

11/19/01 - Short List Awards at The Knitting Factory
Created to reward the talent and achievement of recording artists who are typically
ignored by the mainstream media, the first ever Virgin Megastore Short List
Award was handed to Icelandic rock band Sigur Ros, following an evening of
live performances by other nominees, including: Nikka Costa, The Dandy
Warhols, Talib Kweli and High Tek (with special appearance by Mos Def),
